Dr. Maximilian Erdely
The Acupuncture Integral Clinics are co-owned by Dr. Maximilian Erdely and Dra. René Signorelli. Doctor Maximilian Erdely began studying acupuncture in LA with doctor Shui Wan Wu at the age of thirty. He then went to New Mexico and apprenticed in Aikido, Acupuncture, and Macrobiotic nutrition for over a decade with Nakozono Sensei at the Kototama Institute, in Santa Fe. In 1977 Maximilian was licensed to practice Acupuncture in California and in 1984 he was instrumental in getting Acupuncture legal and creating licensure in New Mexico. Simultaneous to his apprenticeship with Nakozono Sensei, Dr. Maximilian also apprenticed with Dr. Scherer from whom he learned the art of massage and spinal manipulations. Subsequently Dr. Erdely taught at the International Institute of Chinese Medicine in Santa Fe and earned his Doctor of Oriental Medicine degree in Harbin, China. In 1988 he went to the Peruvian Amazon to investigate medicinal herbs and ended up apprenticing with Amazonian Jungle Shamans. He continues to study, practice, volunteer, and teach the ancient ways of Amazonian medicine in conjunction with Oriental Medicine and Acupuncture in North & South America.

Dr. René Ashtara
Doctor René Ashtara, Doctor of Oriental Medicine, graduated from the Southwest Acupuncture College of Santa Fe, New Mexico. She began her journey in healing work at the age of thirteen when she apprenticed with a Navajo Shaman in Arizona for seven years, learning about meditation, sweat lodge ceremony, energy medicines, homeopathy, nutrition, the Native American Church, and medicinal plants. She attended massage school in Albuquerque, New Mexico at the age of nineteen, and maintained a thriving massage practice. During her time in Albuquerque, she helped the creator of Annapurna Ayurvedic Indian Restaurants to open her first location and helped to cook food for Dr. Vasant Lad’s Panchakarma detox retreats at the Ayurvedic Institute. She began an Ashtanga Yoga practice at age twenty and soon moved to India to train with her yoga Guru and head of the Ashtanga yoga lineage, Shri K. Patthabi Jois. She stayed with him and his family in Mysore practicing daily yoga, meditation, Sanskrit, studying Aryuvedic medicine and Panchakarma. She commuted back and forth between Mysore and her other home in McLoud Ganj, India, at the foothills of the Himalaya, where the Tibetan Government in exile remains, and where she studied and practiced closely with the Dalai Lama & many other Tibetan Buddhist Lamas and continues to return to practice with her teachers often. She studied Tibetan Medicine in India and continues to learn from Doctor Dickey Nyerongsha, a ninth generation Tibetan Doctor from Lhasa, Tibet. She has been working with Dr. Maximilian Erdely internationally in his Oriental Medicine and Amazonian plant medicine clinics and retreats retreats since 2009. She is a certified Death Midwife.
